Well, this weekend saw me participate in the 2 days of road races in Des Moines, IA. I had a great time, learned many things, met great people, and ended up hurting like a mofo. The old saying goes, "that which does not kill you, makes you stronger." Well, it was pretty darn close to the former, so the latter should become true.
Do I really want to talk about the races? No. As a matter of fact, we are to never talk about those two days ever again. I will be more than happy to discuss anything else about the weekend, just not about my races. Suffice it to say that my legs have never been in the kind of pain they were and still are in. I'm going to try and use this past weekend as a learning experience and move forward. Not necessarily and easy accomplishment since I like to let things simmer and stew until they come to a boil and come out at the most inopportune time. :)
Big thanks go out to the PRC gals for suggesting and inviting us to A-Dong Vietnamese restaurant. That was some really good eats; even though my order didn't come until after everyone else had finished eating theirs.
Now it's time for a few days of recovery and getting ready for the Spring Classic this weekend. Win or lose, I am going to push myself to the edge again and just learn from the whole thing.
Well, time to post this. I have perused it a few times over and I don't think anyone will find it insulting in anyway. So, if you do, then next post I will post some words of advice. hehe

You're doing great. Just keep trying and learning. Remember to have fun. Bike racing is hard. There are so many factors like the enviroment, how you feel that day, your competition, refs, equipment (flats) ect..... The key is to learn why, what, where, how, when of the race.
All those factors make cycling, in my opinion, the best sport around. I could go on and on of all the details but I think I mentioned quite a few this past weekend. I'll save it for the next race and let you absorb the positives of this past weekend.
kevin -- you know I'm going to ask you about it on Saturday, right? Get your story prepared.
I'll save you the time B - Kevin - what happened?
