Embarrassing...

Nothing give a better resistance workout than riding in 25 to 40 MPH winds. Granted it was a tailwind on the way out; however, it's the ride back that matters. I'd rather have the tailwind on the way back but, alas, where I am located relegates me to a south then north ride. Being fall and soon to be winter, most of the winds are from the north.

It was a good ride, a tad on the cool side, but nothing uncomfortable. It was what happened after the ride that is making my day exciting. My companies lack of locker rooms or any type of wellness center for that matter, relegate me to changing in bathroom stalls. Well, when I grabbed my pants, they snagged on the sharp corner of the door and put a two inch tear in the left buttocks region. To make matters worse, for those of you who don't already know, I work in Omaha but my residence is in Lincoln; one hour away. So any chance of changing is not in the cards. Oh well, guess I need to do some clothes shopping this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, it is time for some more cyclocross action, this time in Lincoln. Woo-hoo!!! Hopefully all my remounts will be pain free. Then one more week until Jingle Cross. After that, it is going to be ALL training for the next 3 or 4 months. Or as Marc likes to call it, TSTWKT (The s*&t that will kill them), I look forward to it. I'm sure looking to see even more marked improvement over this past year. I'm even thinking of attempting Leadville too, as long as there isn't a road race that weekend. Speaking of which, does anyone know when next years race schedule will be released?

Well, need to find some duct tape and do some jury rigged sewing. Hope to see a bunch of you out for the races this weekend, whether your going to race or not. There can never be enough people out there with cow bells.

The 2008 NCA schedule is 90% finished. There is one last meeting on Nov 20 to hammer out the MTB side. December 1 is the target date for official release of the full schedule. If you drop me a line I can possibly (tentatively) answer any scheduling questions you have.

December will be exciting for all those connected with the NCA. Stay tuned.

Jon - Thanks for the info. I was just a little concerned when it was coming out, because some vacation plans need to be finialized before the end of the year. I can be a little more patient and wait. Thanks again.

How do i get to my old stuff said...

I was gonna say "duct-tape." :) you simply can't go wrong if you wind a bit around a pencil, or air pump, or something you're likely to have with you 95% of the time. Works for quick sewing/hemming jobs, tube patches, tire sidewalls, etc. Heck, there's books on the many uses. Always carry ibuprophen and duct tape.
