One week and one year older and not a lick wiser. Just more insane. Maybe I need to start making wishes and seeing if they will come true.
Tomorrow will be my first cyclocross race ever. The weather outlook for the weekend is promising to add some extra excitement with tomorrow being sunny and warm, while Sunday will be the complete opposite. My third eye is showing me visions of mud coverings.
I was hoping to have gotten a little practice and taste of cyclocross racing this past Wednesday at VanDorn park; however, it was canceled. There will be a huge learning curve to get over tomorrow. Hopefully I will get the hang of it quickly and have fun, win or lose. Probably more of the latter. hehe
I am definitely planning on spending most of my time preparing for the next road and mountain bike season. I want to be much faster and more confident on the bikes than I am currently. To do this I have decided that my time would best be served not racing every weekend and just limit it to 3 races.
There is also a charity ride I am definitely going to do and that is on Nov. 10, the Cranksgiving ride. It sure looks like it will be a hoot.
The four letter word has kept me pretty busy this week. This is the time of the year people want new programs or enhancements before the end of the year. There was a time I lived for stuff like this, now I just consider it an annoyance. Needless to say that my journal, whose entries will never make it here, has been getting a rather good workout. There are definitely some things in there that would make a drunk sailor blush.
Well, thanks to Gravy for reminding me to update this thing. Now I need to get my lazy butt moving on my Xmas cards. Have fun whatever you do this weekend and if you are planning on racing in Omaha, I'll see you there.
