Geeky goodness...
Jon mentioned geek in the comments on my last post, so I thought I would add some geekness today. Once again, I should not be allowed into a store without adult supervision. I decided to adopt a new addition to my electronic haven, a 15" MacBook Pro, so now I am very mobile. Before, it was my work laptop that has been getting me around on the wireless bandwagon; the major problem with that was the lack of space and the fact that I had to have windows on it. Even though I dual booted it with Linux and never really used my windows partition. This bad boy has 250 GB of goodness, and I am thinking of upping the memory to 4 GB. Ahhh, the fun of productivity at its highest pinnacle.
Probably one of the reasons for the above purchase was the fact that my cross bike still isn't completed. You know the old saying, "Idle hands are the devil's playground." The wheels just came in yesterday and I went in after work to find the location of where we wanted to cut the steer tube. The shop said they will put it for a first thing in the morning priority. Since I have about 3 more weeks of vaction to burn before November 29, I'm thinking of taking the afternoon off, pick up the bike and go get some greatly needed cross practice in before the weekend. Trying out a new bike with so little time before the first race makes me a little nervous, hopefully my nerves will just be that. I have a question out there for you fellow crossers. I'm trying to decide on what pedals to get for the bike. I want to know what you think are some good mud shedding pedals. Which do you like better...the Time Atak or the Crankbrother Egg Beaters? Is there another type you think is better, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Well, this day should go by quickly and be full of excitement. You may be able to find me out around the Cooper Y today cross practicing with some other riders around 6 tonight.

I ride eggbeaters. Never tried the others. Oh, and I wouldn't worry about just getting on the bike right before a race. That happens to me every season. ;)
It'll all shake out ok.
i am jealous.
ohhhh ... new MacBook Pro in two weeks. Not that there's anything wrong with that one.
Get your memory online, not through Apple. Much, much cheaper.
Syd - Thanks for the advice. Everyone else I talked to said eggbeaters too.
bryan - yip...I went the route of ordering memory online already. Saved a hell of a lot more than getting it from apple. Did that with my iMac a few years back too. Also, didn't see a need for the 17" one.Just too honking big for me.
