Just a little over 24 hours until the start of the 12 hour Manawa race. I was on the prowl for a teammate(s) and will be joining the Elkhorn Cycling Club's Monster team as the fourth man on their 4 man team. The weather appears as though it's going to add it's own excitement to the whole race, with highs in the mid sixties and a 40 percent chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms, as well as 10 to 20 mph southerly winds. The psychological factor will definitely play a role in the race.
The new mountain bike has finally gotten a name, Zod. Hopefully he will live up to his namesake tomorrow.
Two weeks until Cyclocross season kicks off in Iowa with the Cross out Crones Cyclocross Weekend. I am still thinking on it, but I will probably give it a try. I need to start the season sooner or later and better that I get into it early to get a feel of what needs to be done and how to do it. Is there anyone out there planning on doing this one too? Maybe get a carpool thing going.
I probably won't write up a race report until Monday. It's going to be a long and brutal weekend and I will more than likely be spending Sunday afternoon resting. Thanks to Todd of the Elkorn team for letting me join their team and good luck to everyone this weekend, whatever you decide to do.
