Wow, things have finally slowed down a little. The racing season has slowed down considerably; then again most of it is because I just need to save some money. Nothing sucks more than paying twenty dollars for a race you don't finish on the podium in. I can accept it, that's what I am training to overcome next season. I am also thinking of doing the cyclocross season this fall, mostly the ones in Nebraska and the Jingle Cross in Iowa City in November. Since my brother and his family live in Iowa City, I can mooch a place to stay from them. If he gets grumpy about it, I'll buy some sushi for him, that usually works.
This past weekend was terrible, weather wise. The temps were in the triple digits. I decided not to go to the Psycowpath race on Saturday. Why drive three hours for a one lap race in the god awful heat? Instead, I got up early in the morning ate some breakfast and went for a two hour ride.
Since we have recently gotten some rain my yard has gone out of it's dormancy phase so I had to attend to yard work. I hate doing yard work, but I don't want to spend the money to have someone else do it. As I was finishing up the temps were in the upper nineties. Ugh! Afterward it was cold shower time, oh it felt so good after all the heat. I definitely decided that I would be spending the rest of the day in the a/c. This means movie time for me. Saw the Simpsons Movie, it was great, Letters from Iwo Jima, Zatoichi (2003), and season 3 of Babylon 5, started season 4 on Monday. Felt bad that I didn't take the dog out to the dog run but I didn't think it would be fun for her or me to spend a lot of time in the heat.
Sunday was pretty much the same, except there was no yard work and the movies were different. After seeing the Simpsons Movie, I couldn't get the "spider pig" song out of my head while I was riding. hehe This week is supposed to be the same weather wise. However, it means torture for me since I can't do my workouts until after 5PM and it's going to be hot-as-stink out. Sure hope this heat wave ends soon.

I haven't even seen the movie, but I still get Spider Pig in my head from time to time.
'look out ... it's a spider pig...'
Thanks Bryan, I knew I shouldn't have read the comments until after my workout. Had the dang song stuck in my head again. hehe
I watched Babylon 5, the Untold Stories, last Saturday. Mostly drama, little special effects...
It was on In-Demand on the cable choices... not worth $3.95 IMHO.
Anyways, I miss Kosh.
Martin and I were hooked on Babylon 5 for a while...now it is Battlestar Galactica.
Did you melt Kevin....????
It's so silent on your blog!!
