Okay, okay...

Several people have aired their dissatisfaction that I haven't update this all week. Well, as an excuse, I have been on primary pager duty for w**k this week and it hasn't been quiet. The last thing I wanted to do when I was at home was be in front of the computer for even one second.

Now that I have handed the pager off to the next sucker, the updates should be coming.

July 4, was a fun as well as hectic day. Started out with a small teamFIRE ride to Seward at 6:30AM for a breakfast feed at the fire hall. Sure glad we went when we did because later in the day the winds picked up quite a bit. A great time was had by all in Seward, maybe next time we should plan a whole day thing. The people of Seward go all out for the fourth. The streets were closed and packed with vendors and events for the whole day.

After arriving back in Lincoln, it was time to clean up and head to Omaha for a little BBQ with some fellow co-workers. There were burgers, ribs, chicken, hot dogs, brauts, a very interesting potato salad, and other goodies. The afternoon was getting along and I was starting to feel the drain of the morning ride kick in; so it was back to Lincoln for me. As I pulled into the driveway the neighbors we over to invite me over to their place for some more BBQ, fireworks, and to watch the big show. I just couldn't resist.

As soon as the big show was over, I went back across the street and was hoping to get some much needed sleep. Well, how wrong I was because that accursed pager went off as I was about to have dreams of sugar plums. The whole evening, morning, and afternoon were spent working a big issue. I was still able to get my training ride in before going to bed the following evening. I slept the sleep of the dead.

Next entry coming up will be the Psycowpath race at Manawa.
